Add advertising snippets to supported areas of your site and control where they appear.
Before you add ads
Advertising is best suited to established communities with consistent traffic. Confirm that your ad network allows your site type and that any scripts you add comply with your privacy obligations.
Custom domain required
Advertising is intended for sites using their own domain. Many ad
networks also require a custom domain before approving a site.
Create an ad item
- Open Monetization in the admin panel.
- Click Add.
- Give the ad item a clear internal name.
- Paste the HTML or JavaScript snippet from your ad network.
- Choose where the ad should appear.
- Save the item.
Placement options
Ad networks provide different kinds of snippets. Some are visible placements. Others need to load in the page head or body. Match the placement to the instructions from your ad network.
- View type: desktop, mobile, or all devices.
- Page: homepage, content pages, or both.
- Location: the supported area where the ad should render.
Multiple ads in one location
You can add more than one ad item to the same location. HelloBox rotates through the ads assigned to that placement.
