Send selected community activity into a Slack channel with an incoming webhook.

How the Slack integration works

HelloBox can post community updates into Slack through an incoming webhook. This is useful when your members, team, or moderators already spend time in Slack.

Create a Slack incoming webhook

  1. Open Slack and go to the App Directory.
  2. Find Incoming Webhooks.
  3. Add it to your workspace.
  4. Choose the channel that should receive HelloBox updates.
  5. Copy the webhook URL Slack provides.

Add the webhook to HelloBox

  1. Open Integrations in your site admin panel.
  2. Select Slack.
  3. Paste the webhook URL.
  4. Choose the posting frequency.
  5. Save the integration.

Keep the channel useful

Use a dedicated channel if posts are frequent. If you post into a busy team channel, start with a low frequency and adjust only after the updates prove useful.
